Job Description
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Responsible for service delivery of IB, (Equities, Fixed Income, Brokerage) process for a single region e.g. US / Single product e.g. Cash Securities or Service line Prime services / brokerage operations, Settlement, Middle Office, Corporate action
2. Role will include managing a team, supporting single region / product / service line. Managing SLAs and metrics
3. Responsible for measuring the daily process metrics and devise initiatives to improve the same
4. Responsible for implementing tools and methods as per internal WBPO requirements
5. Focus on stabilizing the process and meeting the customer expectation while optimizing the cost.
6. Implement productivity improvement methods/tools from time to time
7. Implement and monitor various development initiatives identified for the domain
8. Provide functional support and direction to the team on customer support needs.
9. Monitor the performance of the process and assist the teams if required
10. Liaise with SCM for sourcing / recruitment.
11. Assist with training and identifying training needs within the group
12. Responsible for overall team leadership
CRITICAL SKILLS REQUIRED
1. Strong knowledge of the Capital / Money Market.
2. Strong knowledge of various capital / money market instruments such as Equities, government securities / Treasury bonds, money market instruments, Forex and Derivatives etc.
3. In depth knowledge of back office operations related to at least one of the following activities in a trade life cycle e.g. Confirmation, matching / Pre-matching, Settlements, Reconciliations, Stock Lending, Asset servicing etc.
4. Strong interpersonal and influence management skills
5. Ability to work and communicate with people across organizational units
6. Ability to manage team consisting of highly skilled team members
7. Ability to think strategically and translate strategy into action plans
8. Strong analytical skills with an ability to problem solve with a win-win negotiation approach
9. Ability to lead people on large, multi-functional efforts and work in a matrix reporting environment
10. Advanced knowledge of PC technology-DOS, applications and online tools especially Excel
11. Expert knowledge of service procedures
12. Excellent Customer facing skills and ability to build rapport with clients
13. Knowledge of Customers Culture
14. Excellent English written and spoken communication
CANDIDATE SPECIFICATION
1. Graduate or Post Graduate in Commerce/ Finance (B.Com/ M.Com/ MFM/MBA Finance /CA /CPA) 6+ years of relevant experience in investment banking/brokerage/ custodian banking
3. Knowledge of US/Europe/Asia domestic capital market dynamics would be an added advantage
4. Previous experience in a BPO or Transaction processing business would be preferable, with experience in interaction with overseas clients or customers on the phone. Experience with Investment Banking Operations (Captive / Third Party) will be preferred.
5. Previous experience in handling a team size of 10 to 15 members.
6. Good Communication skills
7. Good interpersonal skills and excellent people-management skills.
8. Good analytical skills.
9. Aptitude for understanding technology
10. Able to take Independent decisions
